A professional network toolbox —
clean enough for every day.

A 58-protocol decoding engine with protocol families, packet capture, serial/MQTT and SSH/Telnet/ADB — plus file transfer, downloads and a one-click network checkup. Windows and WSL2 Ubuntu. privacy by design

Requires admin rights for packet capture on Windows. WSL2 build is intended as a debugging / server-side toolbox — see the capability matrix below.

Three things we do better

1 · A protocol engine that cannot lie about its rules

  • 58 built-in protocols across industrial, telecom, IoT and Internet families
  • Protocol families: pick szl4 once and every message type of that protocol decodes — dispatched per member, each with its own framing rule
  • Framing: fixed length, length-prefixed (with explicit "does the length include itself / header / trailer" semantics) and terminator-delimited, plus a max-frame guard
  • A fixture-verified gate: every rule must prove it decodes exactly one whole frame, with no residue. Rules that can't prove themselves don't ship.
  • Never silently drops data: resynchronises after garbage, waits on half-frames, hands unrecognised frames to you verbatim
  • Rules are files, not hard-coded logic — with your own rules folder

2 · A transfer engine built for the awkward cases

  • Large files, transferred directly
  • Huge numbers of small files, aggregated
  • Interrupted transfers, resumed
  • Copies of detected media links go to whatever tool you prefer — we don't force ours

3 · One tool for host and WSL

  • The same app on Windows and inside WSL2 Ubuntu
  • Host-side and WSL-side debugging share one toolbox
  • We document exactly where the WSL experience differs — no surprises

Android

The cross-device experience — including a mobile companion — is in planning. There is no date to announce yet, and no Android build is downloadable today; follow the repository to hear when it lands.

What's inside

Network tools

TCP client/server, UDP, MQTT, serial; live protocol decoding; packet capture.

Remote

SSH, Telnet, ADB, FTP/SFTP with file transfer.

Downloads

HTTP, BitTorrent and magnet; resume; bounded retries; plain-language failure reasons.

Device link

Share, groups and messaging between devices.

Media

Local playback and a media centre.

Browser & recording

Built-in browser with resource detection; screen recording with audio on Windows.

Platform support

CapabilityWindowsWSL2 Ubuntu
Core toolbox, transfer, downloads, protocol decoding✅✅
Graphical interface✅ nativerequires WSLg (Windows 11)
Packet capture✅ via Npcap — host/LAN traffic⚠ only the WSL virtual NIC is visible
Serial ports✅ COM ports⚠ requires usbipd-win
Screen recording audio✅not available
Hardware video decoding✅depends on /dev/dri; falls back to software
Privilegesadmin for captureroot / cap_net_raw for AF_PACKET

We publish this table on purpose: the Linux build is a debugging / server-side toolbox, not a 1:1 copy of the Windows experience.

Privacy

  • No telemetry by default.
  • No third-party advertising SDKs — the in-app promotion slots are our own content.
  • Diagnostics are off by default, and when off they neither upload nor write anything.
  • Remote requests (ad manifest, update check) happen only if you configure them.

Responsible use

Yutide is a general-purpose networking tool. Download only what you are entitled to download and comply with the terms of the sites you use and the laws that apply to you.

  • We do not circumvent DRM or technical protection measures, and we do not bypass paid access.
  • Built-in media rules are protocol-level only (HLS/DASH/direct media). Site-specific adapters are user-supplied.
  • Copying a detected resource link merely exposes a URL your browser already fetched — using it is your decision.

Roadmap

The cross-device experience is in planning, including the Android companion. There is no date to announce; follow the repository to hear when it lands.

License

Yutide is proprietary software — no source-code licence is granted. Free for personal, learning, research, evaluation and non-profit use. Using the protocol-parsing features in a company or other organisation requires a commercial licence; every other feature is unrestricted. See LICENSE, PRIVACY.md and THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md (all shipped with the app and openable offline from the About page); protocol-definition provenance is in docs/PROTOCOL_PROVENANCE.md.

Pricing

No feature is withheld. Personal and other non-commercial use is free. Commercial use of the protocol-parsing features requires a commercial licence — the exact scope is in the License section above. Follow the repository for updates.
